Steven Bland

Is a 23 year old who recently graduated from a master’s in Leadership for Sustainable Development with Forum for the Future. Before that I graduated in Geography from Cambridge Uni.

I’ve done two big cycling trips before: Land’s End to John O Groat’s on a tandem with my Dad and a 10 day solo trip through Spain.

I believe my generation has a unique opportunity to ensure that 9 billion people are able to live on this planet in 2050. We can only ensure the highest quality of life possible for as many of us as possible by protecting and restoring the ecosystems upon which we depend.

Likes: Bikes, natural wonders, crumble.

Dislikes: Inequality, the status quo, nuts

I’m Hacon. 23 years old and soon to be qualified on the Legal Practice Course from the College of Law, London Bloomsbury.  Born and bred in leafy Hertfordshire, a natural sceptic of everything with a stubborn belief in justice.

Currently a legal researcher for the One Law for All campaign to abolish discriminatory Sharia courts and recently interned at the only remaining legal aid centre in Beijing, with a view to developing China’s legislation for equal rights.

I love bicycles and I hate inequality and discrimination.  Bicycles represent freedom, freedom from road tax, freedom from a reliance on oil, and the most efficient form of transport.  Discrimination is prohibitted in the UK by legislation in the spheres of employment, education, housing, provision of goods and by public authorities.  Equality is important to me, both on a personal level and politically.  I would describe myself as left of centre, but with a commercial understanding in business and competition.

I hope to offer a legal perspective on the enforcement of equality in Sweden, scattered with clumsy anecdotal philosophical curiosities, and the odd photograph.
